Medicare Advantage | Part C
For some people, a Medicare Supplement does not fit their needs. It may be too expensive or they want more of a local coverage since they may not travel very much. A Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Plan (MAPD) can fill this need.
Most MAPD plans are based on a $0.00 premium. You do not have to purchase a Prescription drug plan separately, most MAPD plans have a drug plan built in them. MAPD’s have a Maximum Out Of Pocket expense (MOOP). There maybe some small co-pays or co-insurance. Most companies have several plans to choose from. MAPD plans are subject to change annually. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid services (CMS) in Washington D.C. regulates these changes.
Here are a few things to keep in mind when choosing a MAPD:
HMO or PPO
Family Doctor Co-pay
% of Co-insurance
Amount of MOOP's
Does my doctor accept this plan
Which hospitals accept my plan
MAPD's are becoming more popular every year with United Health, Humana, and Aetna offering the most choices in 2021.
We are here to assist you in deciding if Medicare Advantage is the right choice for you.
